Invisalign: Creating Your Ideal Smile Without Embarrassing Yourself

Invisalign® is a pioneering new way to align your teeth without the need for clunky visible metal braces. Even though braces have become a social norm for the most part, the stigma attached to showing up to work or school with metal in your mouth is certainly still not a positive. Invisialign bypasses that entirely and can fix your tooth alignment issues without being noticeable. Using clear aligner trays and nearly invisible attachments on the teeth themselves, Invisalign is the best solution for your dental spacing issues.

Your Invisalign treatment will begin with an x-ray, bite registration and polyvinyl siloxane impressions of your teeth and gums to ensure a perfect fit. These impressions are then scanned to produce a 3D representation to decide the perfect angle and direction to move your teeth for optimal straightening. It is then confirmed with you in a session where you have say in the direction you would like your straightening to go. A small nearly invisible elastic thermoplastic aligner is then attached to the teeth in need. Nearly invisible tightening trays are then clipped onto to the aligner and the straightening process has then begun.

The common pop culture trope surrounding braces, cemented by the popular TV show “The Big Bang Theory”, is that they're used solely for young teenagers who don't yet have a grip on what they're character is and the less socially inclined folks. This should absolutely not be the case, and with Invisalign it no longer is. While a truly unfortunate social stigma that we believe is completely unfounded, Invisalign changes the game completely in that regard. The invisible braces invented by Zia Chisthti, pioneered and developed in San Jose and approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 1999 have since made the previously painful and awkward experience of braces irrelevant.

As Invisalign grew from it's initial client base to over 80,000 from 1999 to 2002, to over double that in 2004 it's foothold into the American dental industry was immense. A year later in 2003 the process expanded into Japan and won several awards for stereolithography, medical design and fast growth. Since then the idea has continued to spread like a wildfire and is now in many different parts of the world, from the United States to Hong Kong to Australia it is being celebrated in each for it's ease of use and lack of social repercussions. In 2007 the Academy of General Dentristy approved Invisalign's Program Approval for Continuing Education or PACE becoming a certified member and helping to promote continued education in the dentistry field.

When you are through with the Invisalign process and are the proud owner of straight teeth and a gorgeous smile the only question that will remain is, “why didn't I go with Invisalign sooner?”. An easy, invisible approach to fixing your smile permanently. With widespread and growing support across the globe, Invisalign is the future of dental braces and will be the cause of the future of your fantastic and straight teeth.
