Don't Let Dental Anxiety Keep You From A Healthy Smile

HAS IT BEEN A WHILE since you visited the dentist? Does anxiety or worry about discomfort account for your absence? If fear is preventing you from enjoying the health benefits of regular dental appointments, here’s our plea: give us a chance to change your mind!

Let Us Help You Stop The Cycle
Far too many of us get caught in a terrible cycle. Out of fear, we procrastinate visiting the dentist until tooth pain or discomfort is severe. That procrastination results in tooth decay or gum disease. Faced with the prospect of restorative treatment, we once again avoid care, which leads to further decay and disease.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have simple, easy checkups—and dental health peace of mind after each visit?
We’ve worked successfully to restore the health of many anxious patients, and we can help you too!
At Our Practice, We Prioritize Your Comfort
At Oak Ridge Dental Arts, we understand that many patients feel anxious or nervous when they need to have dental work done. We are dedicated to caring for your family as we care for our own families. Being relaxed and trusting the people who perform your dental work can go a long way to relieving your anxiety.
However, in the event you need additional help to relax, we offer the use of nitrous oxide, and in more extreme cases of anxiety, the use of pharmaceuticals. Make sure to mention your concerns to the dentist and the staff, so we can tailor a solution that will best suit your needs. We want you to have as positive an experience as possible.
Don’t Be Embarrassed; Dental Anxiety Is Normal
If you struggle with a fear of the dentist, it is nothing to feel embarrassed about. Between nine and fifteen percent of Americans are so nervous about the idea of going to the dentist, they avoid it completely! However, just because it isn’t uncommon doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Preventing serious dental problems through regular, twice-a-year cleaning appointments is always better than allowing those problems to develop further.
