Dr. Alanna Chi, DMD joined the Oak Ridge Dental Arts Team in August 2015. She and her husband, Richard, recently relocated from New Haven, CT. Originally from Jacksonville, FL, Dr. Chi graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science in 2006. She received her DMD degree in 2011 from Nova Southeastern University where she was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Upon completion of dental school, she sought additional training at Yale-New Haven Hospital where she completed her General Practice Residency Program, receiving advanced instruction in all dental specialties including training in the treatment of medically complex and special healthcare needs patients. Following residency, Dr. Chi worked as a full-time associate general dentist and later joined the dental faculty at Yale-New Haven Hospital, overseeing the clinical instruction of the dental residents.
As a strong advocate for organized dentistry, Dr. Chi was elected President of the New Haven Dental Association in 2015. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, North Carolina Dental Society as well as the Charlotte Dental Society.
Dr. Chi feels very fortunate to be in a profession that allows her to meet and work with many different people. She loves the everyday challenges of discovering unique approaches for educating patients, promoting overall oral health and creating esthetic smiles, that are customized to each individual patient. It is having the ability to provide a service to her patients that can improve the quality of their lives that she finds to be the most fulfilling and rewarding aspect of her job. She is excited to be a member of the Oak Ridge Dental Arts Team and looks forward to meeting and working with you!
