National Children's Dental Health Month
National Children's Dental Health Month began in 1949 by the American Dental Association, and is observed each February to raise awareness of the importance of dental health. At Oak Ridge Dental Arts, we celebrate National Children's Dental Health Month with our Tooth Fairy Program. The Oak Ridge Dental Arts Tooth Fairy visits local schools to educate children about the importance of proper dental care in a fun and exciting way. Tips from the Oak Ridge Dental Arts Tooth Fairy for a Healthy Smile: 1. Brush for two minutes two times a day Make sure to brush in the morning and at night before bed. It is important to brush the inner, outer and chewing surfaces of your child's teeth. 2. Floss Daily It is important to floss your child's teeth daily. Flossing removes plaque from the surfaces between the teeth, which are the surfaces that are impossible to clean with a toothbrush. 3. Visit the dentist every six months Regular cleanings and check-ups are very important. These visits allow for optimal cleaning and for your dentist to catch and problems, such as cavities. Parents, helping your children develop good dental care habits now can lead to a lifetime of healthy smiles! How can you make dental care fun for your child?
